The Entrance: Where the Madness Began
Imagine walking into an arena where Naruto and Chainsaw Man’s Denji casually stand next to a squad of Jedi Knights. You hear the Star Wars theme in the distance, followed by someone screaming, “It’s over, Anakin! I have the high ground!” Welcome to Comic Con, folks. The vibe was electric. Massive banners welcomed fans with artwork featuring Marvel, DC, anime, and gaming icons.
The queue to enter was longer than an anime filler arc, but no one cared because the excitement was off the charts. Some fans were already in full cosplay, striking dramatic poses while photographers clicked away. Inside, the sound of bustling crowds, distant battle cries from impromptu Naruto fights, and the occasional Pokémon theme song filled the air. People were speed-walking to their favorite stalls like it was a Mario Kart race, clutching their pre-booked passes like precious loot. The energy? Absolute chef’s kiss.

Cosplay Scene: Drip Level = Supreme
Let’s be real. Cosplay is the highlight of any Comic Con, and Kolkata’s first-ever edition did NOT disappoint. From the moment you walked in, it felt like you had entered a multiverse collision. There was an insanely realistic Chainsaw Man cosplayer, complete with actual moving chainsaws on his arms—dude looked straight out of the anime. Right next to him, a Jiraiya from Naruto carried a giant scroll and had perfected the legendary pervy sage smirk. Fans couldn’t stop taking selfies with him.
Walking a little further, you’d spot a Nezuko and Tanjiro duo, with someone literally carrying Nezuko in a wooden box like in the anime. The attention to detail was mind-blowing. And let’s not forget the Spider-Man army, because you couldn’t go ten steps without someone doing the Spider-Verse pointing meme. There was even a guy dressed as Mr. Bean in a Deadpool suit, blending two chaotic worlds into one—absolute legend.
The World Cosplay Summit was the ultimate flex zone. These cosplayers weren’t just dressing up; they were living their characters. One group staged a Tekken 8 battle, complete with slow-motion punches and dramatic mid-air flips. Another team brought Demon Slayer to life with glowing Nichirin blades and near-perfect sword stances. The amount of effort, creativity, and sheer dedication? God-tier.

Merch Madness: Where Wallets Went to Die
Ah, the merch stalls—the place where your self-control goes to perish. The moment you walked into this section, you could feel your wallet whispering, “Bro, don’t do this.” But your inner fan? Already handing over cash for an overpriced but absolutely necessary Gojo Satoru figure.
Otaku Kulture had an entire section dedicated to anime tees, with designs so cool they could make even a normie reconsider their wardrobe choices. Over at Pandora’s Reel, there was something magical for the Bengali pop culture fans—vintage posters of Batul The Great, Professor Shonku, and Feluda, reimagined in a sleek, modern style. Even die-hard anime fans couldn’t resist grabbing a piece of local nostalgia.
The true MVPs of the merch scene were the limited edition collectibles. Marvel and DC fans were losing their minds over signed artwork, while Star Wars enthusiasts had a tough time choosing between a custom lightsaber or a Baby Yoda plushie. Prices? Let’s just say some people definitely had to explain their purchases to their bank accounts later. But honestly? Worth it.

Gaming Arena: A Nerd’s Paradise
If you’re a gamer, the NODWIN Gaming Arena was basically heaven on Earth. Lenovo, PlayStation, and Logitech had setup stations where fans could go full eSports mode, and let’s just say—it got sweaty real fast.
The first stop for most gamers was the Chandrayaan VR experience, because who wouldn’t want to feel like an astronaut for a few minutes? Right next to it was a high-speed racing simulator, where people leaned into their turns like they were actually starring in Fast & Furious: Kolkata Drift. Meanwhile, over in the community tournament section, the intensity levels were off the charts. Players were screaming, cheering, and facepalming as they battled it out in Valorant, Tekken 8, and Call of Duty.
And for those who prefer a little nostalgia? There was a retro-gaming section where players took a break from modern graphics to rage-quit classic games like Contra and Mario Kart.

Comic Legends & Artist Panels: The Real MVPs
Of course, Comic Con isn’t just about flashy cosplays and gaming—it’s about the comics too! Fans got to witness legendary creators in action, including John Layman, the bestselling writer of Chew, who shared some hilarious industry stories.
Harsho Mohan Chattoraj had a special panel where he discussed Bengali comics and their cultural impact, leaving fans with a newfound appreciation for local legends. Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali Vakil of Sufi Comics mesmerized the audience with his unique artistic philosophy.
Aspiring artists and writers had a field day interacting with indie creators, who showcased their upcoming works. The discussions were a blend of nerdy, insightful, and downright inspirational.

Anime Booths: The Holy Land of Weebs
For the anime enthusiasts, the Crunchyroll booth was THE place to be. They went all out with a One Piece-themed experience, complete with a massive Luffy Straw Hat backdrop for selfies.
But the real scene-stealer? The Solo Leveling dome. Fans stepped inside to be surrounded by immersive LED screens, creating the illusion of stepping into the world of Sung Jinwoo. If you weren’t already hyped for the anime adaptation, this experience sealed the deal.

Final Verdict: A 10/10 Nerdgasm
Kolkata’s first-ever Comic Con was a CULTURAL RESET. The energy, the fandoms, the cosplays, the sheer unfiltered geekiness—it all made for an unforgettable experience. If you missed it, well… there’s always next year! But for those who were there, this was the stuff of legends.
Till next time, Kolkata. Stay nerdy, stay hyped!
(P.S. If you’re still recovering from post-Comic Con depression, don’t worry—we’re all in this together. Now go binge-watch some anime to heal your soul.)
